Hugh Jackman and Robert Downey, Jr. lead Thanksgiving social media posts

Hugh Jackman, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Robert Downey, Jr. were among the stars marking Thanksgiving with touching social media posts on Thursday (24Nov16).

Hollywood stars couldn't resist marking the holidays with shares on sites such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Wolverine actor Hugh led the way by sharing a snap of himself beaming with happiness while standing on the beach, writing: "Happy Thanksgiving #allbehappy."

Robert, meanwhile, shared a fan picture of The Avengers having a turkey dinner, captioning it: "Be thankful for love, even when it includes disagreement. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone."

Catherine delighted followers with a family picture alongside husband Michael Douglas and their children, captioning it: "Thankful for so much today! Happy Thanksgiving to one and all."

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has much to be thankful for this year, including being named People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive, and wrote on his Instagram: "Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope you guys have an awesome day! Eat up and drink... Ps - countdown is on.. Santa comes in 32 days. #justsayin."

It was a throwback celebration for Sarah Michelle Gellar as she reminisced about her first ever Thanksgiving with husband Freddie Prinze, Jr., writing: "It's my #ThrowbackThursday meets #Thanksgiving (our first together) Happy Thanksgiving friends."

Ellen DeGeneres wrote on her Twitter, "Happy Thanksgiving! I’m so thankful for every one of you. Even the ones who have eggs as their profile pics & are probably undercover robots," while Chelsea Handler wrote, "Happy thanksgiving to everyone in the world who feels lost. Know that there are many strangers who love you even if we haven't met. We will."

High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens kept up her tradition of sharing sweet selfies, writing: "Happy Thanksgiving, lovers. So grateful to have such wonderful people in my life. I owe so much to my family, friends and fans. Hope you have a day full of gratitude, love and laughs."

And Gilmore Girls star Lauren Graham couldn't resist thanking fans of the show for prompting the show's revival, writing: "Dear @GilmoreGirls fans, We're back tomorrow because of you, and I couldn't be more thankful. Hope you enjoy. Love, LG."
