Josephine Skriver training hard for Victoria's Secret

Josephine Skriver is ramping up her fitness regime so she's ready to rock the runway at the upcoming Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

The Danish model will walk the runway for the lingerie giant in Paris next month (Dec16), her fourth turn for the American brand, who she’s been working with since 2013.

For her forthcoming appearance, the newly minted Victoria’s Secret Angel will don a custom Swarovski look, which features 450,000 crystals with sleeves weighing 10 pounds each.

Accordingly, Josephine is increasing her gym sessions.

“I definitely amp up my workout (in advance of the show), but being an Angel, it’s year-round. I add on a lot of weights; I love building my shape,” she told WWD. “For me, it’s about getting strong and being able to walk out there feeling sexy.”

As an Angel, Josephine now joins the ranks of fellow models Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, Alessandra Ambrosio, Sara Sampaio and Lily Aldridge.

Ed Razek, chief marketing officer at Victoria’s Secret, first told the 23-year-old that she had made the coveted status back in February (16), much to her amazement.

“I’ve worked with the company for a few years. Getting the (Angel) title was the biggest dream of my life and I’d been working my way toward it,” she said. “It was so surreal getting that phone call.”

Meanwhile Monica Mitro, the executive producer of the Victoria’s Secret show, says that preparations are well under way for the spectacle, which will be held at the city’s Grand Palais.

“The Grand Palais is an iconic, amazing building,” she said. “It’s a fashion capital, and we’ve been changing and moving, and we felt like the logical next step was Paris, the City of Light. It’s so sexy… and everyone is so excited about it.”

Monica confirmed that 52 girls will walk the show, to be broadcast on 5 December (16), with 18 new faces, including the show’s first sister act – Gigi and Bella Hadid - set to make appearances.
