The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star was expected to make her first official appearance since she was robbed at gunpoint in Paris at the beginning of October (16) at the Angel Ball in New York City.
The Cipriani Wall Street event, held in conjunction with Gabrielle's Angel Foundation for Cancer Research, feted Robert Kardashian, who died of esophageal cancer in September 2003.
But reports suggest Kim cancelled her plans to attend with her siblings and mum Kris Jenner following an incident involving her husband in Los Angeles.
Kanye was reportedly hospitalized for his own health and safety at UCLA Medical Center for a psychiatric evaluation after police officers responded to a medical welfare call at 1.20pm on Monday afternoon. Following Kanye's hospitalization, Kim apparently abandoned her plans to attend the Angel Ball and rushed back to Los Angeles to be with her spouse, who is said to be undergoing treatment for exhaustion after scrapping the remaining dates on his Saint Pablo Tour on Monday.
Further details about Kanye's condition have yet to be revealed, but as she attended the Angel Ball, the rapper's mother-in-law Kris insisted he just needed a break.
"He's exhausted," Kris told U.S. TV show Extra. "He's just really tired. He's had a grueling tour and it's been a grind so he just needs some rest."
Meanwhile, several other celebrities took to social media to express their concern for Kanye, and wish him better.
Into The Wild actor Emile Hirsch, who checked himself into rehab after attacking a female Hollywood executive at a party during the Sundance Film Festival in Utah last year (15), tweeted: "Hey @kanyewest , get better man! People are making jokes right now, but having been there myself, I hope he gets the help he needs."
And singer Janelle Monae wrote on her Twitter page: "PRAYING FOR KANYE. PRAYING HE HAS THE RIGHT ENERGY SURROUNDING HIM DURING THIS TIME. SENDING PEACE AND LOVE."
The Kardashians have yet to take to their social media to comment on Kanye. Kris was accompanied by daughters Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian at the Angel Ball, where the family made a $250,000 (£200,000) donation to the charity.
Kris also opened up about how Kim is coping in the wake of the traumatic armed robbery in Paris, telling Entertainment Tonight: "She's (taking things) one step at a time. It's a process."
