Michael Buble regrets waiting so long to have children because fatherhood has made him realize what's important in life.
The Haven't Met You Yet was 37 when his wife Luisana Lopilato gave birth to their son Noah in 2013, and they welcomed their second child Elias in January (16).
Being a father has made Michael, now 41, re-evaluate what matters to him and for that reason, he wishes he had become a dad when he was younger.
“The only regret that I have in my life is that I took this long to have kids, because I had no idea the perspective it would give me," he said on U.K. show Loose Women. "I had no idea how much I would love being a dad. That's it, that's all I care about... I love them too much probably, if there was such a thing.
“It's made everything else so insignificant, moments that I was afraid of and moments that would overwhelm me have now become a joy because I've realized how not serious they are compared to what is really important, which is Noah and Eli and that's it.”
Michael is back in the limelight promoting his new album Nobody but Me which was released on Friday (21Oct16) but earlier this year he had to take some time off to undergo vocal surgery.
During his recovery, he had to do a physical exam which involved riding a bicycle and reaching a certain heart rate, and he was so unfit he admits "I thought I was going to die" so he made the decision to drink less alcohol and cut back on smoking.
He explains, "I got off and I said, 'that's it, no way, I want to be old, I want to be an old man with these babies and I'm like not in the shape I need to be in’ and that was simply it, it wasn't like I had this epiphany or (was like) ‘I'm never going to drink again.’”
