Naomi Watts has spoken about the "scary" transition she is undergoing following her split from partner Liev Schreiber.
The former couple, who share sons Sasha, nine, and Samuel, seven, announced they had broken up in September (16), and have remained on friendly terms ever since.
And keeping her children happy after her split from the Ray Donovan star remains her biggest priority.
"I feel I'm in a good place in my life and I want to make sure my kids are healthy, my kids are happy and things are going to go well. Those are my hopes for me and for all of us," she told The Daily Telegraph Australia.
"I feel, whether you're famous or not, transitions are scary for anybody. I feel like change is always scary, but that's only because transition for anyone is new and you wonder how things are going to go."
The 48-year-old Australian actress spent Thanksgiving with her sons at the family beach house in New York, where she has been filming her new Netflix series, Gypsy. She posted a snap of her cuddling Sasha and Samuel on the beach, expressing her gratitude to her followers on Instagram.
Liev, who is currently starring in the Broadway production Les Liaisons Dangereuses, wasn't in the sweet family shot, but isn't far from Naomi's thoughts as she starts to think about her plans for Christmas.
"I'm still figuring out Christmas plans for this year," she explained. "I obviously want to get back to Australia, but I'm currently working on a TV show, Gypsy, and I've only got a limited amount of time off."
Despite their split, Naomi stepped out to support Liev at the debut of his Broadway show in October (16).
"He's the father of my kids," she said at the time. "So it was important to support him."
