La La Land co-stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone got a little dirty in the real La La Land on Wednesday (07Dec16) during a hand and footprint ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard.
A day after the Los Angeles premiere of their acclaimed new movie musical, the film's stars planted their hands and shoes in wet cement outside the TCL Chinese Theatre.
Emma wore a yellow dress for the ceremony, while dapper Ryan donned a blue suit.
He confessed that he wasn't sure that what they were doing was legal, joking, "I'm not completely convinced that we're not going to be arrested for vandalism. I'm going to take your word for it that we're allowed to do this."
The couple's new film is shot all around Los Angeles at some of the city's most famous landmarks, but for some reason the Chinese Theatre wasn't one of them.
"We had an opportunity to shoot in most of Los Angeles' iconic locations except for this one," Ryan said, "so I guess this is the final piece of the puzzle. It's a beautiful way to end this experience."
Meanwhile, his co-star revealed she lost her cool when she realized her hand and footprints would remain outside the famous cinema, adding, "I thought this was maybe the kind of a thing where you come and put your hand prints in cement and then they take them away and put them up somewhere (else). I was told they're going to stay here, so I cried a little bit inside."
La La Land, which is among the Oscars Best Picture frontrunners, opens across America later this month (Dec16).
