Actress Shannen Doherty will return to work during her cancer battle after landing a role in the Heathers reboot.
The Charmed star, who played Heather Duke in the original cult 1988 movie, will play a new, unnamed character in the TV revamp.
"Sneak peek from the #Heathers set... jealous much?," she wrote on Instagram underneath a photo of herself on set.
The TV revamp will be set in the present day and feature a new group of 'Heathers', including a black lesbian and a gender-queer male.
A Heathers-inspired TV series has hit the small screen twice before - the daughters of the 'Heathers' from the movie were the focus of an ill-fated 2012 drama, while another Heathers series briefly aired in 2009.
The casting is a big boost for Doherty, 45, who has been battling breast cancer since last year (15). She recently opened up about the personal changes she has experienced as a victim of the disease during a recent interview with TV personality Chelsea Handler, revealing, "I think what's beautiful and hard and interesting about cancer is that it tears you down and builds you, and tears you down and builds you. It remakes you so many different times.
"The person I thought I was supposed to be or was going to be or who I thought I was six months ago is now somebody completely different."
In addition to Heathers, Shannen will also be seen in upcoming projects Undateable John, MallBrats, How to Make a Deal with the Devil, and Bethany.
