Marriage is really agreeing with Transformers star Shia LaBeouf weeks after he surprised fans by tying the knot in Las Vegas.
The star wed British actress Mia Goth in a strange ceremony that was presided over by an Elvis Presley impersonator and mistakenly livestreamed online on 12 October (16), and almost a month on, he couldn't be happier to be a newlywed.
Appearing on Sirius XM's Sway in the Morning on Friday (11Nov16), LaBeouf said, "I love it, man. That’s one (thing) that’s not been a f**k-up. It's been the best thing I ever did for myself.
"I really have never met anybody like this person."
LaBeouf and Goth met while filming Lars von Trier's racy movie Nymphomaniac in 2012, shortly after the colorful actor had split from stylist Karolyn Pho. They've been together ever since, and though there's still a question as to whether their marriage is legal - Clark County in Nevada tweeted after the event (12Oct16) that they had no marriage license on file for the pair - LaBeouf insists everything is wonderful, and he was ready to make the commitment.
"I'm... like a serial monogamous (sic)," he revealed. "(I) think it's 'cause I’m deeply insecure, you know? Once you get vulnerable with a person, that’s it. I’ve never been a one-night-stand guy. If we have a one-night stand, I’m with you for years. I’m that guy. I think I was after something real substantial this time.”
LaBeouf is currently filming Borg/McEnroe, in which he plays another famously unpredictable curly-headed guy, former tennis champ John McEnroe. The film centers on McEnroe's intense rivalry with Swedish tennis legend Bjorn Borg, played by rising Swedish star Sverrir Gudnason, and focuses on the 1980 Wimbledon Men's Final in England.
