Taylor Swift celebrated pal Lorde's 20th birthday by throwing her a huge party in New York on Monday night (07Nov16).
The Royals singer, real name Ella Yelich-O'Connor, documented the celebrations on her Instagram page, admitting that the organization of the bash was all down to her Shake It Off star friend.
Alongside a snap of Taylor and model Karlie Kloss kissing her on each cheek, Lorde wrote: "Had the best birthday party i've (sic) ever had tonight surrounded by my nyc family. all organised by tay who is as she says 'a mom with no kids'. i am ur (sic) kid and u love me so hard i could burst. here's to our 3 magic years of best friendship and more moments like this squished between angels."
Another picture of the party showed gold balloons spelling out "U R 20", which Lorde captioned: "Happiest birthday girl in the world."
The New Zealand-born star, who wore a chic strapless black dress for the occasion, later shared a video of her guests singing her happy birthday as she was presented with a chocolate cake, writing: "Made my wishes" alongside a shooting star emoji.
Taylor and Lorde have long been close friends, with the 26-year-old singer sharing birthday wishes for her pal on her Instagram on Monday.
Sharing a picture of a hand painted card, Taylor wrote: "Thank you for the music you make, the advice you give, the thoughts you provoke, and the way you've made my life more beautiful since the first day we met up in New York and ate burgers on a park bench and got attacked by squirrels. I. Love. You. So. Much. Ella. @lordemusic."
Lorde had earlier shared her thoughts about getting older with a long, emotional post on Facebook titled 'A NOTE FROM THE DESK OF A NEWBORN ADULT'.
Recalling how she was just 16 when she rose to fame with Grammy Award-winning song Royals, Lorde commented on how much her life has changed over the last 12 months.
"Sometime in the last year or so, part of me crossed over. For one thing, I made a very deliberate choice to withdraw for a little while from a public life," she explained. "I haven’t had my hair or makeup done in a year, the free handbags dried up LONG ago, and the paparazzi at the airport are almost always for someone else. And let me tell you, as much as I love being full noise album cycle girl, it's been a motherf**king joy."
